Limousin-Origin: France-Average mature weight: 1 000kg to 1 300kg (bull) and 650kg to 850kg (cow)-Average birthweight: 36kg-The Limousin is light to dark red in colour and has a muscular build. The breed shows efficient feed conversion, and produces high-quality lean meat.It is known for its carcass yield. The breed is extremely fertile and has good conformation.
South African farmers are facing mounting pressure from several sides at once, with little financial room to recover when something goes wrong. Farming has always been unpredictable, but risks now rarely happen in isolation — a farmer may lose part of a crop to a storm and then need to replace expensive machinery while input costs are already high.
